Cabins and Lodging in Chimney Rock Park in North Carolina

Chimney Rock State Park is a 996-acre state park located in the mountains of North Carolina, 25 miles southeast of Asheville. The park offers hiking trails for all skill levels. Most notable for its 315-foot granite Chimney Rock, it also is home to Hickory Nut Falls. While Chimney Rock has been a tourist destination since the late 19th century, the state park was not established by the state until 2005. The N.C. Division of Parks is still developing areas of the state park with traditional park facilities. In 2009, there were no in-park lodging facilities within the park. Many options exist within the immediate area, however.

Acorn Cabins

Located only 2 miles from the Chimney Rock State Park entrance, the Acorn Cabins are nestled in the heart of the Lake Lure community. The three cabins are surrounded by woods and have dramatic views across the valley to the Cane Creek Mountains. Two one-bedroom cabins and one two-bedroom cabin have all the necessities to enjoy a weekend getaway or longer vacation. The cabins feature Jacuzzi tubs, full kitchen and TV/VCR. Two cabins have a wraparound porch to help soak in the scenic views.

Bat Cave Cabins

The one- and two-bedroom riverfront cabins overlook the Rocky Broad River in Bat Cave. Fish for trout from the river stocked weekly throughout the summer by the state hatchery. Other outdoor activities such as swimming and tubing in the river help make the Bat Cave Cabins a memorable setting for a mountain vacation. The cabins are located only 2 miles from Chimney Rock Park.

River Creek Campground

River Creek Campground offers RV sites, tent camping and cabin rentals on its property in Rutherfordton and is just 15 minutes from Chimney Rock State Park. You will be able to swim, fish, canoe and tube the Broad River. On-site amenities include laundry, arcade and playgrounds. Nearby activities include golfing, tennis and boat rentals.
