The Bear Cafe

The Bear Cafe is on the edge of Woodstock, New York. Diners sit streamside when the weather is warm and by the fireside when the weather is cold. The cafe was created by Albert Grossman in 1971 and reopened by Peter Cantine, chef Eric Mann, and later, Andy Cooper. The menu features American cuisine in a cozy atmosphere of wood interior and oil paintings by a local artist. Bear Cafe has been honored annually by Wine Spectator with the award for excellence since 1999.

Cucina

Cucina restaurant is housed in a restored farmhouse in Woodstock. Diners can sit by the fire or on the wrap-around porch in the spring and enjoy the stylish country ambiance and casual service. Chef and cookbook author Gianna Scappin serves a contemporary Italian menu. Cucina is open daily for dinner and for brunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Violette

The Violette restaurant in Woodstock opened in 2003. Chef Daniel Rabiner is joined by his mother, Gladys, who is a French-trained chef. The restaurant offers French-influenced cuisine and American classics. The wine list is carefully selected from around the world to pair with the menu. Violette's simple, colorful interior creates a classic ambiance for fine dining in a rustic setting.
