La Queue de Cheval
This means tail of the horse, but you get anything but the hind end at this ultra chic establishment. Montreal businessman Marc Andre Garand says, "What an experience, but it's very expensive!"
The a la carte menu is rife with top of the line cuts of steak, ranging from 10 to 28 ounces. Their Cadillac of steaks is a porterhouse that will set you back 65 CAD. Their seafood is flown in from the icy waters off the Maritime provinces. The restaurant has a prime location right in front of the Centre Bell, where the Montreal Canadians NHL franchise continues to churn out legends and folklore.

Joe Beef
To say Joe Beef, located in a trendy neighborhood known as Little Burgundy, is small and intimate is an understatement. The restaurant seats a mere 28 patrons. Mon Dieu. How do they survive you ask? By providing exceptional customer care. The restaurant pays homage to Charles "Joe-Beef" McKiernan, a 19th century innkeeper and working class hero. A large cote de boeuf, is their signature steak. Their fare is always market fresh, if only because the chefs can shop daily at the nearby Atwater Market. A night at Joe Beef will run you somewhere around 110 CAD per person, including tip.

There is only one word grand enough to capture what Gibby's is to the city of Montreal; institution. Nestled in the heart of Old Montreal, the steakhouse occupies a rustic french setting in a 200 year old building which was once a horse stable. The stone walls give the feeling you've stepped back in time. Gibby's broiled steaks attract a world class clientele; professional hockey players, rock stars and politicians all have been spotted over the years enjoying the quaint old world atmosphere.
