Florida Trail Association Tropical Trekkers Chapter
The Florida Trail Association was incorporated in 1964; it is a nonprofit volunteer organization that works with the USDA Forest Service to build, maintain, protect and promote 1,400 miles of Florida trail. The Tropical Trekkers Chapter is a hiking club that holds annual activities like the Annual Dessert Hike and AT backpacking trip. The club also works to maintain trails in the area and serves the Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties. Trails frequented by this club run along the Kissimmee River from Okeetantie Recreation Area to Bluff Hammock Conservation Area.

Tampa Adventure Group
Aside from hiking, this club also offers other recreational outings such as rock climbing, skiing/snowboarding, hang gliding, scuba diving, horseback riding, camping and sailing. The Tampa Adventure Group was founded in 2007. Members pay yearly dues; all ages and skill levels are welcome to join. The club's event prices are based on group rates.

Wilderness Trekkers
The Wilderness Trekkers club is based in the Central Florida area. It has members throughout the Florida peninsula where a great number of its outdoor events are scheduled. The organization has a schedule of events nearly every weekend, which includes hiking, kayaking, canoeing and biking. Trips can be single day or multi-day events. To try the Wilderness Trekkers club, you are allowed to attend up to two of its events as a guest.
