North Carolina State Parks Lodges & Cabins
North Carolina State Parks offer a variety of activities that appeal to outdoor enthusiasts. Many state parks have miles of trails available for hiking and horseback riding. There are also facilities for boat rentals, fishing, swimming and a variety of other outdoor activities. Some of North Carolina's State Parks offer lodging and cabin rentals to accommodate guests during travel.

Hanging Rock State Park

Hanging Rock State Park is located 4 miles from Danbury. This state park offers 10 two-bedroom, one-bathroom cabins as well as 73 campsites. Each cabin is equipped with its own kitchen as well as a living room and dining area. All 10 cabins are smoke-free and can accommodate up to six guests. Pets are not allowed in the park's cabin area. Reservations are required, and four of the 10 cabins have year 'round availability. Hanging Rock State Park has its own 12-acre lake where guests can swim, boat and fish. The park also features 12 wooded hiking trails complete with waterfalls, rock cliffs and a mountain cave.

Morrow Mountain State Park

Morrow Mountain State Park is located 6 miles from Albemarle. It offers six two-bedroom cabins. Each cabin has its own living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom and can accommodate up to six people. Cabins are available year round by reservation only. The park has its own swimming pool, which is conveniently located near the cabins. The park also offers 15 miles of hiking trails and 16 miles of bridle trails for horseback riding. A boat ramp and trailer parking are available for guests bringing their own boats. Canoe and rowboat rentals are also available from June through Labor Day, and on weekends during the spring and fall when weather permits. Fishing is available from the river banks and pier for guests with a North Carolina fishing license.

The Summit at Haw River State Park

The Summit at Haw River State Park is located in Brown Summit. Lodging at the Summit consists of 72 motel-style cottages, an 80-bed dormitory-style cabin for large groups and 10 cabins. Each of the 10 cabins has four bunk beds and a roll-away bed to accommodate up to nine guests. The cabins and cottages are not equipped with telephones or televisions. Meeting spaces are also available for conferences, meetings and events. Activity facilities include a gymnasium, athletic field, outdoor pool and disc golf course. The park features hiking trails and a 6 acre lake where guests can rent canoes from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Fishing is permitted for guests who have a North Carolina fishing license.
