The deer and the antelope aren't the only ones playing in southcentral Texas. San Antonio's recreational and cultural diversity also draw recreational vehicle travelers to the city's many RV resorts to enjoy its outdoor bounty, historical districts and warm temperatures. The resorts are close to the Market Square, River Walk, Six Flags and Sea World San Antonio, as well as outdoor activities such as golfing, hiking, fishing, boating and biking.

Close to downtown San Antonio, the Alamo and River Walk, which features restaurants and shops along a 2-1/2 mile stretch of the San Antonio River, the park's 165 sites are equipped with concrete pads, full hook-ups, wireless Internet and cable television. Several sites overlook Riverside Municipal Golf Course, adjacent to the resort. Additional amenities include heated spa, playground, laundry facilities and game room. An eight-mile hiking and biking trail is near the resort. Free shuttle service is available to some area attractions, including Sea World, Six Flags, San Antonio Zoo and seasonal festivities such as Cinco de Mayo and Christmas River Lighting. This pet and big-rig friendly mini-city resort with 710 sites is open year-round and offers several RV amenities, including full hook-ups, concrete pads, 70-channel cable television with HBO and wireless Internet. Guest amenities consist of an adult Jacuzzi, junior Olympic-size heated pool, laundry facilities, playground and gift shop/convenience store. Tucked among 40 acres of pecan trees and nestled beside the Salado Creek, San Antonio KOA is five miles from downtown San Antonio and open year-round. Pull-through, pet-friendly RV sites are available. Wireless Internet is free. Cable television and phone are available with charge. The park has a pool and hot tub. Bike rentals are on site. Daily tours of San Antonio and the missions are available. The oft-mentioned outdoor and tourist attractions of Six Flags and the Alamo are nearby, but KOA also directs guests to the less visited but interesting attractions such as the Natural Bridge Caverns, Alamo Classic Car Museum, Cascade Caverns and Gruene Hall.
