For a celebratory dinner, check out Shula's 347 in downtown Tallahassee. Shula's 347 offers a casual dining atmosphere with a gourmet menu. The Flat Iron Steak is one of the house specialties, but diners can also satisfy their beefy appetites with the 16 ounce Cowboy Steak.

Shula's 347 is located in the Hotel Duval, the city's only boutique hotel, and is a great fit with the atmosphere of the hotel in general. Shula's also offers hotel guests the option of in-room dining instead of traveling down to the dining room. Reservations aren't necessary for Shula's 347, but if visiting during graduation or football season, they are highly recommended.

Julie's Place Restaurant

Set in cozy red brick and wood panel surroundings, Julie's Place is a Tallahassee institution. Since 1978, some of the best steaks and seafood have been served within these walls. Prime rib is the house specialty here and is available for lunch and dinner. For parties of 20 or more, Julie's Place offers special menus, inclusive of dessert, salad and bread, with choices from chicken, seafood and the house specialty prime rib. A fairly extensive wine list is available to choose from for any steak dinner as well as mixed drinks from the lounge.

For those a bit shy of venturing away from what they know, Longhorn Steakhouse has a location in the Tallahassee area. An extensive selection of prime rib, filet, T-bone and rib-eye steaks, the choices are many but the taste is the same: delicious. Excellent steaks, excellent atmosphere, and local flair, Longhorn brings it all to the table.
