Historic Hotels in Walla Walla, Washington
Walla Walla is a city of 30,000 in the southeast corner of Washington State. Incorporated in 1862, the city has since become a hub for wine enthusiasts and offers opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and skiing within a short drive. Walla Walla's downtown has been restored to its historic beauty, and this restoration includes several of the city's hotels.

The Marcus Whitman Hotel

Named for the founder of the area's first mission, this hotel opened in 1928. After a period of decline in the late 20th century, the hotel has been restored to its original condition and is Walla Walla's flagship hotel. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, complimentary airport shuttle, and a hot breakfast buffet. For other meals, guests can sample regional food and wine at The Marc restaurant or the Vineyard Lounge. The hotel is also located steps from downtown Walla Walla's numerous small restaurants, wine cellars, and boutiques.

Green Gables Inn

Located adjacent to the beautiful Whitman College campus, the Green Gables Inn is a historic house built in 1909 and since converted to a bed and breakfast. Guests can take their pick of rooms whose names are taken from the book "Anne of Green Gables." Some rooms have claw-foot tubs, and one has a jacuzzi tub. The Inn is about 1 mile from Walla Walla's Pioneer Park, a large park with an aviary, duck pond, expansive playground, and massive trees.

Fat Duck Inn

This hotel, located in a historic Craftsman house, is as much about food and wine as it is about accommodation. In addition to the complimentary breakfast, guests can opt to dine at the Inn with a five-course dinner offered each night. Reservations for dinner are required at the time of booking, as space is limited. Those who want to explore on their own can reserve a gourmet box lunch to take with them as they explore local wineries or venture further afield to go hiking or mountain biking. Wi-Fi access is complimentary throughout the hotel, and it's .5 mile to the Colville Street Patisserie, a local favorite for gourmet desserts and gelato.
