The 29-mile-long Great Sacandaga Lake is located in the beautiful foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Rogers Family Orchard

Rogers Family Orchard, in Johnstown, is open from May to December. Visitors can enjoy the great scenery in upstate New York while picking their own apples in the fall, and selecting from a variety of flowers, fruits and vegetables in the spring and summer. They also enjoy homemade cider, syrup, maple products and baked goods.

Adirondack Animal Land

This 80-acre attraction is the largest zoo in upstate New York, and is only minutes north of the New York State Thruway on Route 30 North. It is home to over 500 animals and offers visitors a 45-acre African Safari ride. The zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day from mid-May through Labor Day.

Solid Rock Ranch

This horse ranch in Northville offers relaxing trail riding through scenic mountain areas at a walk, trot or canter. Rides are available for individuals and groups of all ages, and all come equipped with a guide. Call for an appointment. The facility is a nonprofit horse rescue rehabilitation ranch that has rescued and rehabilitated over 40 horses.

Sacandaga Lake Golf Club

The Sacandaga Lake Golf Club is one of the oldest golf courses in the United States. This nine-hole course features small greens and a ravine that comes into play on seven holes. The course also features a flat terrain, making it an easy course to walk.

Lanzi's on the Lake

Lanzi's on the Lake is the only waterfront restaurant located on the Great Sacadaga Lake. It has been owned and operated by three generations of the Lanzi family. The primary dining room contains high ceilings, natural wood and windows that lead to an outdoor deck that seats 135 guests. The outstanding restaurant offers its patrons year-round service and is open seven days a week.
