Port Chester is in Westchester County, New York right off the New England Thruway, I 95 and the New York/Connecticut border. The Byram River flows by the town. It is one of the smaller rivers at 20 miles in length and is used for kayaking and canoeing. It empties into Port Chester Harbor, which has marinas and is on Long Island Sound. After a day of boating or fishing, you can tie up at the marina and spend the evening enjoying one of the restaurants in Port Chester.

Edu is a Japanese steak house where the chef prepares the dishes at the table. The restaurant is family friendly with a special kids menu. The menu features chicken, sukiyaki, sirloin, filet mignon, salmon, sea scallop, shrimp, spicy filet mignon and twin lobster hibachi, along with several combination plates. Prices in 2009 range from about $12 to $33.

Fox Island Seafood House

The Fox Island Seafood House is a Mediterranean Seafood restaurant on the banks of the Byram River. The restaurant has an open deck for summer dining. Half of the menu is changed each month, so each visit will be a new experience. The menu features wood fired pizza, crispy skinned Scottish salmon, steak-house rubbed rare Hawaiian tuna, house-made butternut squash ravioli, braised short-ribs and roasted organic chicken breast scapariello. Prices in 2009 range from about $10 to $27.

Cafe Mirage

Cafe Mirage is a small eclectic restaurant housed in what used to be a garage. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly with a special menu for the kids. The menu features Prince Edward Island mussels marinieres or ala crème, steak frites, coconut curry chicken, seafood gumbo and Beef Bourguignon. Prices in 2009 range from about $20 to $24.

Sonora Restaurant is a modern and sophisticated Spanish-style restaurant with dishes from around the world. Marianacci's Restaurant has been a family run Italian/continental restaurant . The restaurant can accommodate private parties of up to 40 people. The menu features penne con salsicce, prime shell steak broiled with olive oil, garlic and lemon, Italian bouillabaisse, lobster tail stuffed with a seasoned breadcrumb mixture of shrimp and scallops and boneless chicken breast cooked in a spicy wine sauce with mushrooms, peppers, and onions.
