Blackwater Falls State Park
Blackwater Falls get its namesake color from a combination of the natural acid in the water and the fallen hemlock and red spruce needles. Hiking and nature photography are two of the biggest attractions of the park. The park has three pet-friendly cabins, which are rented on a first-come, first-served basis, but can be reserved up to a year in advance. Cabins must be rented for at least a week in the summer, but can be rented for shorter intervals in the rest of the year. Reservations can be made online or by telephone and credit card.
