Freeport is a village on the South shore of Long Island in the Town of Hempstead, in Nassau County. Freeport's Nautical mile is on the Woodcleft canal and features a miniature golf course, crab shacks, bars and a marina. Freeport is close to Jones Beach, the premier beach on Long Island. The beach is on the Atlantic side of Long Island and offers ocean swimming, surf fishing, and a two mile boardwalk.

Rachel's Waterside Grill

Rachel's Waterside Grill is located on Freeport's Nautical Mile. There is an outdoor dining area overlooking the water. The bar area is small and becomes crowded quickly. The mussels, steamers and crab cakes are popular appetizers and the New England Clam chowder is a signature dish.

Otto's Sea Grill

Otto's Sea Grill is a long time favorite in Freeport. It is located on the Nautical Mile and has an outdoor dining area overlooking the water and is perfect for enjoying a sunset view. Its hot clam sampler appetizer is popular and they are known for their soft shell crab sandwich. It has live music on weekends.

Hudson & McCoy Fish House & Bar

Hudson & McCoy is located along the Nautical Mile. It has an outdoor bar with entertainment on the weekends and karaoke on Wednesday nights. The ambiance evokes the feeling of an old style fish house. Its menu focuses on fresh fish and a raw bar featuring clams and oysters. The portions are large and the scallops, which are recommended, are enormous.
