Taste of India's convenient location near a major Minneapolis interstate makes it ideal for visitors, families and commuters. Since 1997, this eatery has been collecting local dining awards from publications such as Mpls. St.Paul Magazine and Minnesota Monthly. The menu is large and features traditional Indian cuisine such as Chicken Tandoor and Lamb Vindaloo. There is also a sizable vegetarian entrée menu, as well as many vegetarian appetizers and side dishes. Dinner entrees are between $12 and $20, and lunch is served buffet-style. Taste of India is open daily; the buffet lunch is served 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner is 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The ambiance is casual, and reservations are not required.

Best of India prides itself on serving more than 100 dishes. Lunch is served buffet style daily 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. and there are more than 20 fresh items every day to choose from. It is a perfect opportunity to try a variety of Indian specialties and curries in an informal setting. Dinner, also served daily, is available Monday through Thursday 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.,and Friday through Sunday 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. The Tandoori breads and dishes are a specialty, and the menu features an extensive array of lamb, chicken, beef, seafood and vegetarian dishes that range in price from $8 to $17 as of 2009.

For a third Indian dining option near St. Louis Park, try OM in downtown Minneapolis, six miles away. OM serves contemporary Indian cuisine made with locally grown ingredients. The setting is posh and a little more upscale than a traditional Indian restaurant. Entrees, such as Kashmiri Lamb and Grilled Saffron Paneer, range in price from $15 to $25 as of 2009. OM is open for dinner only daily at 4:30 p.m., and reservations are recommended.
