Great Smokey Mountain Railroad

The Great Smokey Mountain Railroad is located in Bryson City, North Carolina. They offer a variety of train trips for all ages and interests. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate their "Rafting and Railroad" train trip. Spend the first half of the day on a beautiful train ride through western North Carolina, and the second part of the day rafting down the Nantahala River.
The "Tuckasegee River Excursion" offers a scenic train ride and shopping, along with some Hollywood history. You can view the film location that was used for the movie "The Fugitive," complete with some of the original props.

North Carolina Transportation Museum

The North Carolina Transportation Museum is located in Spencer, North Carolina. They offer daily seasonal train rides from through North Carolina, and beyond.
During the holiday season, choose from themed train rides including "Jingle Bell Express," "Cookies and Cocoa with Santa" and "Santa Train." In addition, visitors to the museum can participate in turntable rides on the 100-foot turntable.

Tweetsie Railroad

Tweetsie Railroad is located in Blowing Rock, North Carolina. Geared towards families, the Tweetsie railroad trip runs through their own "Wild West" territory, offering fun interaction for kids and adults alike. The vintage steam locomotive that pulls the train is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of Interior. Visit a working locomotive shop, explore the amusement park, and ride the chairlift ride to Miner's Mountain after your train ride at Tweetsie.
