Hotels in Rockport, Maine
The picturesque harbor town of Rockport, Maine is world-renowned for its stunning scenery and breathtaking views. Located on Penobscot Bay, this mid-coast town is a popular tourist destination. Rockport Harbor provides berthing for visiting boaters; however, if you lack a boat, there are still opportunities to enjoy boating day trips, overnight cruises and kayaking. Fitness enthusiasts can enjoy running, cycling, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, golfing, hiking and skiing. There are three options for accommodations in the town itself: one resort and two inns.

The Samoset Resort

This gracious seaside resort has been a Rockport fixture for over 100 years. Completely destroyed by fire in 1972, it was rebuilt using historic timbers taken from a landmark Portland, Maine granary in 1974. The first three floors offer newly-renovated luxury guest rooms featuring granite vanities, marble-topped mahogany furniture, and either a private balcony or terrace with views of the ocean, golf course, or pool and gardens. This four-Diamond AAA property boasts a championship 18-hole golf course and a 200,000-gallon, free form, sloped-entry swimming pool. On-site dining is available at the elegant Marcel's restaurant, or you may choose the more casual Breakwater Cafe or Clubhouse Grille. Amenities include massage services, hot tubs, wireless Internet, a health club and a children's camp.
