Disney World Sheraton Hotels

Disney World Sheraton Hotels
Once a sleepy region of orange groves and swampland, central Florida is now packed with hotels. Sheraton hotels dot the area, especially around Walt Disney World. One of the hotels operated by Sheraton is even located on Disney property--one of the few not actually run by Disney itself. Rent a car if you want to visit the area's outdoor attractions. For instance, Blue Spring State Park (where you can enjoy scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming) and the Wekiva River (a popular spot for canoeing) are between 30 and 60 minutes away, longer if the I-4 traffic is thick.

The Walt Disney World Dolphin

Both the Swan and Dolphin hotels are located on Disney's Boardwalk. While Starwood operates both, the Dolphin is run under the Sheraton brand. This is the only Sheraton hotel physically on Disney property, and it is in walking distance to two of its theme parks: Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Primarily a convention hotel, it also offers rooms to casual guests. Pets are not allowed. Bicycle rentals are available, and many visitors enjoy a ride down the Boardwalk. This is a recreational rather than athletic experience, however; the Boardwalk is often packed with people and entertainers, so you need to keep the speeds slow.

Sheraton Vistana Resort, Lake Buena Vista

The Sheraton Vistana is a time-share resort, but you can book rooms here on cash and stay as a regular hotel guest (and without having to sit through a timeshare presentation). The property is located across I-4 from Disney World, which is literally minutes away by car. It features 13 lighted tennis courts and an outdoor jogging trail. Pets are not allowed.

Sheraton Safari Hotel And Suites

Located one exit east of the I-4 exit for Epcot, Sheraton Safari Hotel and Suites is a Walt Disney World "Good Neighbor" hotel. This African-themed resort offers free shuttles to Disney World and a kid-friendly pool with a slide shaped like a python. The resort also has a jogging trail and fitness center, and allows dogs up to 80 pounds.

Sheraton Vistana Villages, International Drive‎

This villa-style resort is close to the theme parks, features one- and two-bedroom units and has a fitness center. Most of the units here have kitchens or kitchenettes, DVD players, whirlpool tubs and dining areas. The hotel offers shuttle service to the theme parks, the fees for which generally are not included in your room rate. Pets are not allowed.
