Quechee Gorge State Park

Quechee Gorge State Park, situated along the Ottauquechee River, is popular for its scenic 165-foot gorge formed by glacial activity and known as "Vermont's Grand Canyon." Its 612 acres boast trails, ball fields and picnic areas as well as 45 tent and trailer sites and seven lean-to sites. Two bathrooms with showers serve the campground, and most sites can accommodate large RVs. The park is open from Memorial Day weekend to mid-October.

Connecticut and White Rivers

The Connecticut and White Rivers come together at White River Junction, which is less than ten miles from Quechee. For those who do not have gear or seek an arranged outing, a company called Wilderness Trails plans canoeing and kayaking trips tailored to a group's interests and skill levels. Their Connecticut River excursions are more leisurely than the White River programs, which are better for the more adventurous. For family canoeing and fishing trips, Wilderness Trails also offers outings on Dewey's Mills Pond in Quechee.
