Gourmet Restaurants in Tannersville, Pennsylvania
Located near the Pocono Mountains--a popular vacation hot spot for New York and New Jersey residents--Tannersville sits in the middle of a changing landscape. Just ten years ago, you might have seen a horse and rider cross flourishing Route 611. This main thoroughfare once held just a few businesses, but now is a busy, well-traveled road with more than just mom-and-pop establishments. In Tannersville, gourmet restaurants don't have to be expensive, black-tie or elite. The chefs at Tannersville's gourmet eateries create fine dishes without the hype.

Barley Creek Brewing Company

As far from black tie as possible, the Barley Creek Brewing Company resides near Camelback Ski Resort and its summertime companion, Camelbeach water park. Barley Creek offers authentic, hand-crafted ales and lagers, along with commercial beer brands. The menu includes both authentic pub fare and fine dining specials. The kitchen takes traditional American food and steps it up a notch. The brewery's award-wining wings hit the plate with traditional celery and blue cheese dressing, and additional sauce choices. A little less traditional are the big, healthy salads offered by the Brewery, such as Cranberry Spinach Salad made with fresh spinach, grilled chicken, blue cheese, tomatoes, walnuts and cranberries, topped with raspberry vinaigrette. Then there are sides like a Maryland-inspired soft pretzel topped with crab, cream cheese, sour cream and melted Monterey Jack.
