About an hour south of Memphis and 25 miles west of The University of Mississippi, Batesville boasts two large lakes nearby worth exploring. Enid Lake is home to the George Payne Cossar State Park where you can shoot some golf while the kids play put-put. Lake Sardis is a popular spot for Ole Miss students and locals to water-ski and lounge on the swimming beaches. John Kyle State Park is also located here. Both parks offer cabin accommodation, but if you prefer the comforts of a traditional hotel, Batesville has a number of fair options nearby.

Baymont Inn and Suites

Try one of the whirlpool suites at the Baymont, or just enjoy the heated indoor pool. Located in the center of Batesville and walking distance to several restaurants, this hotel includes extras such as an exercise room, sauna, and over sized rooms. The 10 mile drive to either lake makes this an ideal spot to set camp, while the University of Mississippi is only about 22 miles away. Free Internet and breakfast is included, and this is one of the few hotels in the area that allows pets.
