Torches on the Hudson

Torches is fast becoming Newburgh's one-stop shop for dining and entertainment on the river. Located on the waterfront, it has 54 transient slips available for you to pull up and relax on the terrace overlooking the river. A 6,000-gallon aquarium filled with 30 types of tropical fish separates the Aqua Bar from the restaurant. No need to feel like you are missing any of the action, as floor-to-ceiling windows allow diners and bar patrons to see everything happening on the riverfront, just a few feet away from their seats.

The menu provides a full range of pasta, surf and turf appetizers, sandwich/wraps and entrees. One of the favorites is a chili-rubbed chicken breast with chopped romaine and Caesar dressing and garlic herb twist. Popular dinner choices include rack of lamb, filet mignon, lobster and shrimp scampi. Entree prices are $16-30, drinks are $9-12 and a bottle of wine will set you back $20-30. Reservations are advisable, and parking is provided.
