Marco Island is a favorite vacation spot in Southwest Florida, near the city of Naples in Collier County. Marco is famous for miles of white sand beaches and tourist spots. The island was first inhabited by the Calusa Indians and christened Marco Island by Juan Ponce de Leon in the 1500s. Modern day Marco Island was first settled by the W.T.
