Irish Restaurants in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
The Pittsburgh area boasts a strong Irish heritage. The first people to the area were Scotch-Irish and settled here to become farmers and tradesmen. As Pittsburgh grew and became industrialized, many of the business tycoons were of Irish heritage. The likes of steel tycoon, Andrew Carnegie, and financier, Andrew Mellon, were Irishmen. Dan Rooney, the Steelers' majority owner and lifelong Pittsburgher, is the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland.
