Rockville Centre is a town in Nassau County, Long Island. It is in the town of Hempstead. Rockville Centre is close to Hempstead Lake State Park. There are three ponds in the park that offer catch and release fishing. Hempstead Lake Park has biking trails, tennis courts and a wooden carousel. In the winter cross-country skiing is permitted.

Blue Moon Restaurant

The Blue Moon restaurant is a local favorite. Its pizza is cooked in a brick oven creating a thin, crispy crust. Panninis are inventive with choices ranging from the classic veal parmigiana to roasted vegetables. The décor is traditional, with red-checkered tablecloths in an old-world setting.

Franks' Steaks

Steak, chicken and seafood in a clubby atmosphere. Frank's serves well-aged steaks, a variety of grilled chicken dishes and grilled lobster and fish. The pan-seared prime rib and marinated flank steak are its signature dishes. The side dishes, such as the mashed potatoes with sautéed onions and the sweet potato fries are served family style. Frank's is popular and reservations are recommended.
