Hotels in Frisco, Colorado

Hotels in Frisco, Colorado
Frisco is located in Summit County, Colorado, and is convenient to Breckenridge Ski Resort and Copper Mountain. In the summer, boating enthusiasts enjoy the Frisco Marina, as well as the Frisco Historic Park on Main Street. Frisco lodging is relatively inexpensive, but choosing the best venue is a question of strategy. Summit Boulevard and Main Street are the two primary locations of Frisco Hotels. Main Street, with its shops, restaurants and parks is more interesting. Summit Boulevard has fast food shops, supermarkets and Wal-Mart. While it's less charming than Main Street, it's the first stop on the free Summit Stage buses to the ski resorts. Staying in this area may be the only way to guarantee a seat.

The Alpine Inn

The Alpine Inn is the closest hotel to the Summit Stage Frisco transfer. This is good news for anyone who is interested in traveling car-free. You can take Colorado Mountain Express from the airport directly to the Frisco Transfer Center, and then walk directly to the hotel. The two-story hotel has 37 rooms, equipped with one king, or two queen beds. The hotel has a hot tub and a swimming pool. In 2009, rates ranged between $130 and $140 a night, and include continental breakfast and Internet access. Each room has a refrigerator. The hotel is one block from the Safeway Supermarket, so you can save a bundle on food by staying here.

The Snowshoe Motel

The Snowshoe Motel is located on Main Street. The buses to Breckenridge and Copper Mountain stop directly in front of its doors, and the Frisco Marina is two blocks away. Rates include continental breakfast and Internet access and use of the hot tube and swimming pool. In 2009, rates ranged between $55 and $120 a night. The cheaper rooms have two double beds and a private bath. The larger rooms are suites, which have a living room and a kitchenette. Its cheap rates make the Snowshoe a classic "ski bum" hotel, which is favored by families and large groups. Large groups, however, imply parties. This may not be the best place for those who would like a good night's sleep.

The Hotel Frisco

The Hotel Frisco is a pet-friendly, 13-room hotel. It has an upstairs library, where you can borrow books or use the computer. Their free, après ski consists of hot cider and all sorts of goodies. Many of the rooms are small, but if you need more space, try to book room 200. This room was originally designed as an apartment for the owners. It features granite counter tops, new appliances and a gas fireplace. The sofa sleeper in the living room makes it a perfect choice for families or groups of four.

The Hotel Frisco offers a Snowfall Discount, which is based on the amount of snowfall reported at Copper Mountain. For example, if the 24 hour new snow at Copper is reported at 10 inches, any booking made on that day gets a 10 percent discount. Average 2009 prices were $109 nightly.
