Located in Palermo on the northwestern side of Sicily, the Hotel Garibaldi is one of the island's four-star hotels. A large hotel with 162 guestrooms, the Grand Hotel Baia Verde is situated on the cliffs along the Riviera of the Cyclops, home to a bay of volcanic rocks and a view of nearby Mount Etna. The hotel is decorated in a traditional Mediterranean style with lots of open space and natural light.. All rooms are air conditioned and have a writing desk, wireless Internet, satellite television and minibar. The bathrooms are marble covered, and some rooms offer a sitting room with sofa bed. San Domenica Palace Hotel

One of Taormina's pre-eminent luxury hotels, the San Domenica is located in what was a convent built in the 15th century. The hotel's location offers stunning views of Mount Etna as well as the Bay of Taormina. There are two main buildings, one the surviving section of the convent, the second added in 1896. The hotel features frescoes and furnishings from the convent, as well as pieces of the original wall that surrounded the building. There are 108 guestrooms, and guests can use the full fitness center, which has a view of the water, as well as the spa and swimming pool. Rooms are all air conditioned and each has private balcony, safety deposit box and 24-hour concierge service. Swimming, fishing, horseback riding, cycling and boating are all available. Diving tours or deep sea fishing trips can be arranged.
