Jupiter Hotel
The Jupiter Hotel, a classic Portland boutique hotel, is located just west of the main Laurelhurst district, which makes it a little closer to downtown proper than most of Laurelhurst. Known as a "hip" place to stay, the Jupiter Hotel is located next to the popular Douglas Fir Music Venue, where live music and dancing are nightly occurrences. With cozy rooms and eclectic decorations, the Jupiter Hotel is a good place to stay if you're looking for a fun time at an affordable price and a great location.

The Banfield Value Inn
The Banfield Valley Inn is known for just that--value. If you're looking for a unique hotel experience, stick with the Jupiter Hotel. However, if you want something with slightly larger rooms for a little less money, the Banfield could be your answer. Located a little farther from downtown than the Jupiter Hotel, the Banfield Valley Inn is still in a great location for getting around by foot, bike, car or public transportation--the convenient MAX has a stop just a few blocks away. In fact, if you want to be as close as possible to the heart of the Laurelhurst district, then look no farther.

Portland Central Thriftlodge
Much like the Banfield Valley Inn, the Portland Central Thriftlodge is for the most part your standard hotel that could be found anywhere in the country--this one just so happens to be located just outside the Laurelhurst district of Portland. Perhaps a little cleaner and friendlier than the Banfield, the neighborhood is also a little less desirable. Many conveniences still exist within walking distance however, and the MAX line with access to the rest of the city is once again just a few blocks away. The Portland Central Thriftlodge is actually located very close to downtown Portland, and with a few hours to explore by foot you can cover a lot of high-value Portland real estate, such as the Waterfront and Laurelhurst and Belmont districts.
