Upon request, the hotel can arrange a rafting trip. Children younger than 12 years old are not allowed as of November 2009.

49er Gold Country Inn

The 49er Gold Country Inn is located in the historic downtown. The Inn offers amenities ranging from free HBO to a free continental breakfast. The breakfast will help build your energy for the surrounding attractions such as fly fishing and bird watching. The lakes and rivers around Weaverville provide fishers with catches of trout, salmon and bass. While you are in historic "gold country," you might also want to try gold panning on the side of the rivers and in the lakes. Nature trails also wind through the countryside. The McDonald Lake Trail is long but level. Shimmy Lake Trail is an easy hike much like the McDonald Lake Trail. If you are feeling adventurous, you might take the Granite Peak Trail, which is very steep. The end of the trail takes you to the top of Granite Peak for a rewarding view.
