Schnitzelhaus
According to Mike Jacobi, Co-Owner and Manager of Schnitzelhaus, loyal patrons regularly come from 60 miles around northwest Tampa to enjoy an authentic German lunch or dinner. "Germans who come to my restaurant from Germany," says Mike, "like some of my beers better than the beers that they can get at home in Germany."
Schnitzelhaus offers 15 different German beers and live music on weekends. Call in advance to make reservations. For a table of four, call one or two days in advance; for a table of more than four, call one or more weeks in advance. Dress is casual.
Mr. Dunderbaks
According the manager, Jason Lyons, Mr. Dunderbaks is host to Tampa Bay Beers, the largest home-brew club in the Florida gulf coast. Mr. Dunderbaks also features Geier's Sausage, and offers 50 draft beers and 300 different bottled beers. It features original beer gardens and a food market with deli. It was founded in 1974, and in it English and German are freely spoken. The dress is casual.
Tank's Tap Room
According to Chris Jaksec, the owner from Pittsburgh, Tank's Tap Room's large beer selection is the draw for his restaurant. Though not technically a German food restaurant, Tank's is home to 51 tap beers and "Tampa Bay's best draft selection...Bavarian style." Tank's Tap Room focuses on providing a "fun and friendly" atmosphere including:
• Pool tables
• A hub for Pittsburgh Steeler events
• Live events on the party deck inside the restaurant that focus on timely themes. The most common themes center around Pittsburgh Steeler activity.
