Starved Rock State Park, located alongside the Illinois River, provides a plethora of activities for any outdoor traveler. Between exploring Starved Rock's 13 miles of trails and 18 canyons, boating and fishing in the Illinois River, and hunting for game in the late fall through early winter, you may need to plan an overnight trip. Fortunately, Starved Rock offers high-quality lodging facilities that will provide you the chance to relax and rest up for the next day's adventure.

Starved Rock Lodge

Located in the woods right above Starved Rock State Park, Starved Rock Lodge has provided guest accommodations for 70 years. The lodge contains 91 uniquely decorated guest rooms including rooms with executive bay windows and junior suites, or you can choose to rent a deluxe cabin, which contains four individual guest rooms per cabin. Two bedrooms have a fireplace and king-size bed, while the other two bedrooms have double-sized beds. All deluxe cabins have air conditioning and heat as well as indoor plumbing. Each room is rented out separately. To lodge the entire family, consider renting one of five family cabins (each can sleep five people). Family cabins are located 150 feet from the main Lodge, tucked into the woods. Each family cabin comes with two king-sized beds, one sleeper sofa and wireless Internet access. West and East Wing rooms are located in Starved Rock's main lodge and are similar to modern hotel rooms. Rooms are available with the options of king size, queen size, and double sized beds. Starved Rock boasts several other amenities such as an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, conference center and full-service dining room.

Starved Rock Inn

If you prefer to be a few miles away from the action, Starved Rock Inn is right for you. Located just 3 miles north of Starved Rock, this countryside, eight-room motel is rustic and relaxing. All rooms have modern amenities such as one queen bed, one stand up shower and satellite television. A stay at Starved Rock Inn also includes the use of Starved Rock Lodge's pool and other amenities. The Starved Rock Inn only has seasonal lodging and is closed from late November to mid-March.

Grizzly Jack's Grandbear Resort & Indoor Waterpark

Located just across the road from Starved Rock is Grizzly Jack's for the fun-at-heart. After a long day of hiking and bird watching, staying at Grizzly Jack's will allow you to let loose. The resort has 92 guest suites that feature north woods decor and furnishings. You can choose from the King, Family, Bunk Bed, Whirlpool, or Deluxe Family Suites, all of which include cable television, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and wireless Internet access. Grizzly Jack's also has cabins and villas that sleep from 9 to 18 people comfortably. As far as entertainment goes, Grizzly Jack's has a 24,000 foot indoor water park including a lazy river, a wave pool, water slides and kiddie area. The full-size indoor amusement park has video games and full-size amusement park rides. Several restaurants, gift shops and snack shops are available to guests, as well as a conference center and fitness facility.
