Xaviars at Piermont
Xaviars is Rockland County's pride and joy. The restaurant opened its doors in 1987 and it has only 40 seats. The menu is "New-American," with staples like Nantucket scallops and Hudson Valley duck. The wine list is extensive, with a number of selections under $50 and some stretching into the thousands. The proprietor, Peter Kelly, is somewhat of a local legend. Kelly operates a number of successful restaurants in the area. Xaviers is the only restaurant north of Manhattan to receive the New York Times' four-star rating, so make sure to call and book ahead.

Slattery's Landing
Slattery's Landing has something for everyone. Offering pub, lunch, brunch and dinner menus, the restaurant serves well-executed American classics in a casual, yet sophisticated ambiance. There are many steak options, with virtually every cut of beef on offer, along with seafood, chicken and veal prepared in a variety of ways. On Sunday afternoons, brunch is served buffet style and is a perfect start to a day spent outdoors. The room is cozy and the staff very friendly, making it perfect for a cold evening.

Sidewalk Bistro is a French restaurant serving seasonal and traditional dishes that it supplements with reinterpreted American classics like Kobe beef burgers. The decor is traditional and not overpowering. There is a nice garden in the back, and as the name suggests, a sidewalk cafe to enjoy your dinner al-fresco. Sidewalk Bistro is open for brunch, lunch and dinner, and the restaurant is a family-oriented place with a separate kids' menu.

Canzona's Market
