Burns, Tennessee, is a rural town in the county of Dickson. While it may be small, there are plenty of entertaining attractions to visit. Visitors can enjoy the performing arts while still getting exercise by taking part in sporting activities or hiking through the woods.

Montgomery Bell State Park

The Montgomery Bell State Park is just three miles from the center of Burns. It is also only 38 miles west of central Nashville. It is a park with 3,800 restored acres that offers activities like biking, boating, golfing, swimming, fishing, camping and hiking. Eight vacation cottages and an inn with 125 rooms are available for guests to stay in while visiting the park. Those who may be looking for large areas to hold meetings or conferences can rent the indoor conference center, which can seat up to 500 people. A restaurant on the park grounds offers a seafood buffet on Friday nights and a steak buffet on Saturday nights. For interested learners, Montgomery Bell State Park also offers informational nature programs. You must call the park ahead of time to schedule time to see the offered programs.

The Renaissance Center

The Renaissance Center is about three miles from the center of Burns, Tennessee. The center teaches about the arts and performance. It offers classes to children and adults in music, theater, dance, visual arts and computer skills. Star and laser shows are available, as well as plays, dance performances, and musical concerts. School children may also take field trips to see plays or participate in workshops offered by the Renaissance Center.

Thunder Alley Family Entertainment Center

Thunder Alley is a bowling center for family fun and entertainment. Thunder Alley offers bowling tournaments, leagues, party packages and youth programs. There is a registered volunteer program that coaches the children in bowling and lets them play in leagues. For those who want to play other games besides bowling, there is also pool tables, air hockey, batting cages, glow-in-the-dark putt putt, a juke box, video games and a sports bar.
