Pendleton, OR Hotels

Pendleton, OR Hotels
Pendleton, a historic and charming city, is often a base for explorers interested in the vast wildlife of Eastern Oregon. With great hiking nearby, and rainbow trout fishing in the Umatilla Indian Reservation's Indian Lake just 34 miles south of the city, there is no reason not to stay in town. A stop in the city also gives visitors a chance to check in with Pendleton Underground Tours and see a side of the city that stretches back to the Oregon Trail.

Rugged Country Lodge

The Rugged Country Lodge has a variety of classically decorated hotel rooms. They're nothing fancy, but the service is quick, friendly and available 24 hours a day. As for amenities, the hotel offers continental breakfast, free Internet and cable, fridges and air conditioning, as well as freshly baked cookies in the reception area after noon. It's the closest hotel to the Wildhorse Casino and minutes from historic downtown. The staff can also arrange day trips to Walla Walla's wine country or nearby state parks. Rooms range from $85 to $95 per night.

Working Girls Hotel

Established in the 1890s, this former brothel re-entered the service industry as the Working Girls Hotel in 1991, though it has cleaned up its reputation. Now it's run by Pendleton Underground Tours, so it's a one-stop shop for both history and relaxation. The hotel has five rooms --- one is a suite --- which range from $75 to $95, depending on the season. Children are not allowed because of the antiques that help create the Victorian decor bathing each room. The Working Girls Hotel is right downtown and within walking distance of dining, museums, the Umatilla River Walk Way and even an ice-skating rink in the winter. The staff can be a little hard to get ahold of at times, so if you want to stay here, you may need to be persistent.

Breakfast is included for all bookings, and small pets are welcome at the discretion of the proprietors. Room rates run from $100 to $135.
