Wood Cabins
Gulf State Park offers three one-bedroom cabins that sleep four, and a two-bedroom cabin that sleeps six. Located in a wooded setting near the beach, each cabin includes a bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, satellite television service, screened porch, picnic table and grill. Linens are changed once a week.

Lakeside Cabins
Located directly behind the beach, Lake Shelby is a 900-acre freshwater lake that provides visitors with fishing, swimming and boating activities. The park service offers 15 two-bedroom cabins and a three-bedroom cabin on the lake. All cabins sleep six and include a fully equipped kitchen, satellite television service, screened porches, picnic tables and grills. Elevated 12 feet above ground, the cabins provide access to fishing piers and a fish cleaning station.

Lakeside Cottages
The lakeside cottages are on the northern shore of Lake Shelby, about 2-1/2 miles from the beach. Eleven three-bedroom cottages are available. Each provides queen-sized beds, two screened porches, a deck and fishing pier. Like the cabins, each cottage comes with a fully equipped kitchen, satellite television service and linens, which are changed once a week.

Tips
Pets and smoking are not permitted in cabins or cottages. Check in time is 4 p.m. and checkout is 11 a.m. An 11 percent lodging tax is assessed on all accommodations.
Reservations
If you plan to stay one week or more, you can book up to one year in advance. You can reserve 30 days in advance for a minimum two-night stay, or three nights during holidays. The park service requires a deposit and accepts personal checks, Visa, Mastercard and American Express.
