Atlantic City boasts some of the best cuisine on the Eastern Seaboard. Italian restaurants are prevalent here. According to TripAdvisor.com, of the 281 restaurants in Atlantic City, 27 are Italian. Many of these are offshoots of either New York City dining spots or transplants within the Atlantic City branches of their sister Las Vegas hotel restaurants. Note that the Atlantic City Restaurant Week, usually held at the end of February and beginning of March every year, is a great time to check out the best Atlantic City restaurants.

Angelos Fairmount Tavern

The Mancuso family has operated this great Italian family-style restaurant since 1935. Reservations can be made for 10 people or more only. The restaurant is large enough for weddings and banquets.

Angeloni's II Restaurant & Lounge

Angeloni's is an upscale standard in Atlantic City frequented by visitor and locals alike because of their consistency in presenting fine Italian dining. Offering the largest, award-winning wine list in the area, Angeloni's can accommodate parties of up to 50 people.

Carmines

A New York City theater district favorite, Carmines is a family-style restaurant which offers traditional Southern Italian cooking: antipasti, traditional pasta, seafood, chicken veal and beef, all served in the style of an Italian wedding feast. The portions are enormous, and entrée orders are brought to the table in platters that can feed a family of four.

Girasole Ristorante

Girasole has a distinctly Mediterranean café feel, right down to the outdoor garden patio for dining in the warm weather and indoor fireplace. The restaurant offers a full bar, as well as hors d'oeuvres, handmade pasta dishes featuring fresh seafood and brick oven pizza. The style is casual yet elegant, and entree prices range from $31 to $50. Lunch is served Monday through Friday 12:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Dinner is served Monday through Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Valet parking is on the house.

Il Mulino NY

Il Mulino originated in New York's Greenwich Village and is known for food from the Abruzzo region of Italy. Rustic and hearty, Abruzzese cuisine is known for its simplicity. One of Zagat Restaurant Guide's "Best in New York" for over 20 years, Il Mulino's menu consists of Italian classics including pastas, fish, chicken, meats and veal.

Andreotti's

Atlantic City's Harrah's houses Andreotti's, a family-owned and operated favorite for over 40 years.

At the Tropicana Hotel, Avanti serves Southern Italian specialties in an intimate atmosphere. Avanti is considered expensive, and it's best to call in advance for reservations.

Arturo's

At Bally's, Arturo's has an ocean view. The restaurant is considered expensive. It has extended hours, serving dinner from 6 p.m. through 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 6 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
