The history of Wittenberg, Germany is associated closely with Martin Luther himself. Hotel-Pension Am Schwanenteich

The Hotel-Pension am Schwanenteich is the traveler's gateway to some of the most famous historical sites in Germany. Visitors can see St. Marien Church, Martin Luther House and the Haus der Geschichte, a museum which includes an exhibit about the former East Germany. The "Schwarzer Bär" touts itself as the ideal jumping off point for visitors to Wittenberg. In fact, the hotel boasts Luther himself as a former hotel guest. Guests find easy access to Dübener moor and the Dessau-Wörlitzer garden. Hotel amenities include in-house assistance for theater and restaurant visits, as well as suggestions on bike and car tours of the area. ACRON-Hotel Wittenberg

Another one of Wittenberg's hotels on UNESCO's World Heritage site list, the ACRON-Hotel Wittenberg is located just 200 meters from the old city. Hotel guests can easily reach the Schlosskirche (Castle Church), where Luther nailed his 95 theses against the practice of indulgences, as well as the castle where Prince Leopold III of Anhalt-Dessau spent his summers. Other attractions include Hundertwasser School and Rabenstein Castle. Each room has two beds, bathroom, desk and a TV. Two of the hotel's rooms come equipped to accommodate the disabled. Prices range from 50 to 72 euros per night, as of November 2009.
