The Berghoff
The Berghoff is a historic restaurant located within the heart of Chicago's Loop. Herman Berghoff, a German immigrant, opened the Berghoff Cafe in 1898 at downtown Chicago to grow the market for his beer. The establishment expanded into a staple of Chicago dining over the decades, but it closed for business in 2006. However, the Berghoff Catering & Restaurant Group emerged to re-open the location shortly thereafter.
Today, the Berghoff Cafe is an ideal meeting place for business professionals and tourists downtown. Weiner schnitzel and sauerbraten are the featured specialties. Expect to pay relatively high prices for food and parking, courtesy of the Loop location.
