Cafe Allegro

Cafe Allegro is a fabulous restaurant you can only find in La Verne. Monday's hold half-price wine specials as of November 2009 that make it a perfect date night. In addition to that, the Tuscan bean salad and the scampi are beyond delicious. It is a smaller restaurant so large crowds can be unpleasant for some, but however the outside dining area is a perfect fix to that.

Charlie's Cafe Bistro

Although at initial glance Charlie's Cafe Bistro's location in a strip mall does not specifically appeal, the inside decor is charming and the staff is wonderful. For lunch, salads or sandwiches are the way to go, and there are plenty of vegetarian options. For dinner, try the lobster ravioli or the chicken marsala.

Frisella's Roastery

All meats here are slow-smoked in a 10-foot smoker, and pretty much everything on the menu--sauces and rolls included--are made from scratch. It specializes in barbecue dishes, but the menu is extensive, and many meals are served with homemade, old-fashioned style potato chips. For dessert, you'd be crazy not to try the homemade peach cobbler.
