Morgan's Fish House

Located just off the New England Thruway section of I-95, this casual, contemporary restaurant serves seafood and more in the heart of Rye. For seafood lovers, Morgan's offers maple ginger-glazed salmon, blackened swordfish, porcini-dusted halibut and other creative fish entrees, as well as filet mignon or herb marinated chicken for non-fish eaters. Or, choose a "Simply Fish" dish -- your choice of swordfish, Scottish salmon, halibut, ahi tuna, whole bronzini, lemon sole, jumbo shrimp, or Chatham cod cooked grilled, pan-seared, blackened, or fried. There is also a raw bar featuring oysters, clams, and shrimp or lobster cocktail.

There is space for private parties as well as a special brunch menu and an extensive wine list.

Seaside Johnnies

For a more casual seafood dining experience, try Seaside Johnnies at Oakland Beach. Seaside Johnnies specializes in "seaside classics," such as Maryland style crab cakes, Alaskan king crab legs, and plenty of fried seafood, including clam strips and jumbo shrimp. Besides a wide selection of seafood the menu includes traditional meat items such as burgers, chicken fingers, and barbecue chicken and ribs. An impressive list of sushi is also available.

The wine list is short, but the beer selection is a wide variety of classic beers, like Bud, Bud Light, and Coors. There is, too, a special tropical drinks menu featuring cocktails with names like a "Bikini Tini" and a "Nutty Swede Tini," as well as various flavors of coladas, daquiris and margaritas.

The Rye Roadhouse Restaurant and Bar

Opened in 2007, the Rye Roadhouse offers a selection of Cajun food, traditional pub fare, and a few Mexican-inspired dishes. The appetizers include a truly staggering variety of options, from "'Gator Nuggets" to deep fried macaroni and cheese (regular or Jalapeno) and even ribs. There are fajitas, homemade chilis, and a New Orleans/deep South-inspired entrée menu featuring Southern fried chicken, jambalaya, blackened catfish, and bourbon-glazed pork chops. If that's not enough, there's also an entire menu devoted just to sandwiches, burgers, and po'boys.

A special late-night bar menu (11:00 pm to 1:00 am) features comfort food faves like buffalo wings and sliders. The Rye Roadhouse offers a limited wine menu and five New Orleans-inspired specialty drinks like the Hurricane Cody and Soup's Swamp Juice.
