Inverurie, on the banks of the River Don just 17 miles west of the northeastern Scottish port of Aberdeen, is acclaimed for its brown trout fishing. The Redgarth

With a name that translates as "the red house in the garden," the Redgarth in Inverurie's Oldmeldrum district has three guestrooms, each named for one for the hotel garden's shrubs. Strathburn Hotel

Just 15 minutes from Aberdeen Airport, Inverurie's affordable Strathburn Hotel has 27 non-smoking ensuite single and double rooms. Each of them has Freeview TV and WiFi. Superior rooms have bathtubs and showers. The Strathburn's rooms feature large windows and immaculate decor in cheerful colors. A full breakfast is included in the room price. The hotel's restaurant serves lunch weekdays from 12 to 2 p.m, and dinner every evening beginning at 5:30 p.m.
