Pampas Argentinas
Pampas Argentinas is many things: part brunch joint, part Tapas bar, a seafood eatery and a steakhouse--but its all Argentine-inflected. Its menu features appetizers from antipasto to empanadas and a variety of pastas, grilled meats, fish plates and some vegetarian dishes. The Tapas bar is available from Sunday to Thursday and catering is available for special events. The Queens Tribune has named it among the "best of Queens" and New York State Sen. Serphin Maltese has called it the "finest steakhouse" in the borough.

Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen
Another hard-to-categorize venue is the Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen, which blends a French-styled wine bar with elements of a Spanish Tapas bar and an Italian Enoteca. Selected regional wines can be paired to your liking with the help of a knowledgeable staff. Situated just a block from Long Island Sound and Atlantic Ocean views, it's a great choice if you want to walk off your meal--the tasting boards of cured meats and cheese, complex pasta creations and homemade desserts await you.

Tierra Sana
Perhaps the most unusual of these venues is Tierra Sana, Spanish for "healthy earth." The concept at this "tribal food" eatery is to provide guests with healthy and affordable, "culturally diverse" vegetarian kosher-fusion cuisine that promotes a toxin-free diet in harmony with the earth. All ingredients used are locally sourced and organic, and all carbohydrates and oils are unrefined. Even their cocktails are rethought, skipping sugary mixers in favor of natural flavorings. Wi-Fi is available on premises in the Health Cafe--and the bike paths of Meadow Lake are just a short stroll away.
