Officially incorporated by the State of New York in 1818, Amherst is the largest suburb of Buffalo in terms of both size and population (116,510 according to the 2000 census). Amherst borders a portion of the Erie Canal and can boast that it's the home of four different college campuses. Although the town gets its name from Lord Jeffery Amherst, the British Army officer credited with inventing biological warfare, it is consistently ranked as one of the safest cities in America according to FBI statistics.

Creekview Restaurant

The building that houses The Creekview was built in 1799, and during the war of 1812, it served as the headquarters of General Winfield Scott. It has been the site of various hospitality services for over 100 years and features beautiful views of the falls of Ellicott Creek. In its current incarnation since 1981, The Creekview is a tremendous local favorite. Open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner, The Creekview serves an American regional menu and has a creekside patio and full bar. Located on the corner of Main Street and Mill Street.
