The CAT Ferry to Nova Scotia leaves from Bar Harbor. There is a wide variety of restaurants, and the regional specialty is fresh seafood. Bar Harbor is a great destination for dogs and their owners. Dogs are allowed in most areas of Acadia, and there are many other opportunities for dog-friendly adventures.

The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel & Conference Center

The Atlantic Oceanside is located on 12 acres at the base of Acadia National Park. It is only one mile from the Acadia National Park entrance. The hotel has a rocky Maine beach and a fishing dock, two tennis courts, and an indoor pool and outdoor saltwater pool. It has eight smoke-free buildings.

This pet-friendly hotel has a limited number of rooms designated for those traveling with their pets. There is a pet charge of $25 per night. Management requests that those traveling with pets notify the hotel at the time of reservation.

Days Inn Bar Harbor

The Days Inn offers complimentary use of the swimming pool, tennis courts, sauna, hot tub and even putting greens. There is a fitness center available for those looking to workout. There is free parking and a complimentary breakfast. The ocean is visible from all rooms. The Days Inn is one mile from the entrance to Acadia National Park.

There are designated pet-friendly rooms. There is a $10 fee charged per pet.

The Ledgelawn Inn

The Ledgelawn Inn was established in 1904. The main inn has 21 rooms, and there are an additional 12 rooms available in the carriage house. Guests are encouraged to sip a glass of wine in front of the lounge fireplace or enjoy tea on the veranda. The inn features antique, or antique reproduction, decor. You can walk to parts of Acadia National Park from the inn.

This pet-friendly inn has eight designated rooms available for those traveling with their pets. These rooms each have private entrances, which allow you to come and go with your pets without disturbing other guests. The hotel reminds guests to clean up after their pets and to not allow pets to disturb other guests. Pets cannot be left unattended. There is a pet fee of $25 per night.
