Casa D'Italia
One of the most sincere Italian restaurants in Ravenna, Casa D'Italia is the culmination of a lifelong dream for proprietor and chef Anthony Donatone, a native New Yorker with Italian roots who always wanted to have "his own place." The portions are rich and generous, and the decor evokes the final years of the big-band era. Try "The Sinatra," made with dry salami, mozzarella, oregano and served on a hero, or partake of one of the salmon dishes, pairing the Pacific Northwest's most famous fish with the sensibilities of Italian sauce.

Piatti Restaurant
Situated in University Village at the southern tip of Ravenna, Piatti is just one block from the scenic Burke-Gilman trail. Part of a small Western chain, this Piatti offers a polished experience and an uncomplicated menu. Try the rigatoni for Piatti's take on an old classic. Their panna cotta makes an excellent and atypical dessert. Finish it with a cup of coffee and then relax with a book at the nearby Barnes & Noble.

Marcello Ristorante
Located on Roosevelt and run by the Magaletti family, Marcello's is open nightly for dinner. It has a simple menu and is family-friendly. If you like anchovies and dishes with naughty names, try the spaghetti puttanesca. For something less salty, the vitello al porto is a rich delight. The dining room is absolutely gorgeous, and the restaurant has a spacious outdoor patio for fair weather.
