Brazilian Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona

Brazilian Restaurants in Phoenix, Arizona
From the desert botanical gardens to the world's largest city park, Phoenix, Arizona, is paradise for outdoor aficionados who crave the sun. Considering Phoenix's reputation for having an endless summer, it should come as no surprise that there are a handful of quality South American restaurants in the area. Enjoying a dinner of Brazilian cuisine is an excellent way to end a day of outdoor exploring.

Brazilian Bull Steakhouse

Meat lovers, look no further than East Phoenix's Brazilian Bull Steakhouse. The Brazilian Bull is a traditional churrascaria, meaning that it serves meats in the gaucho style--on an upright skewer. Diners at the Brazilian Bull use a painted cylinder to control how much meat arrives at the table: green means more meat, please; red means enough for now; and the cylinder on the side means done for the night. The Brazilian Bull serves traditional, slow cooked meats on upright skewers, big salads and tasty pineapple and banana deserts. The environment is casual. Price range is a little upscale, around $30 to $60 per person as of 2009.

Fogo de Chao

North Scottsdale's Fogo de Chao is another mecca for meat eaters. The churrascaria style Fogo de Chao uses a similar ordering system as the Brazilian Bull Steakhouse, and diners can choose from 15 cuts of meat. Desserts are pleasingly exotic, with Fogo de Chao signature papaya cream and South American flan leading the list. Fogo de Chao stands out for its above-and-beyond standards of service. Price range is about $30 to $60 per person as of 2009.

Rio Sabor Brazilian Steakhouse

Vegetarians will continue to feel left out, as North Scottsdale's Rio Sabor Brazilian Restaurant is another dining spot where meat is king. Rio Sabor does offer a kind consolation, however. Vegetarians and kids eat dinner for half price. In addition offering 12 cuts of meat, Rio Sabor has hot entrees such as white fish with coconut milk, raviolis and roasted potatoes with capers, and Brazilian rice with salmon. Desserts include South American treats such as coconut flan, passion fruit mousse and chocolate brigaderos. As of November 2009, dinner costs a flat fee of $33.99, and lunch costs $20. Live music and dance performances make Rio Sabor one of Phoenix's liveliest Brazilian dining options.
