The Windham Restaurant

Originally the site of a farm in 1729, this restaurant is in a Colonial style house built in 1812.
The sign over the door reads "Food and Spirits" and they really mean "spirits." The building, which was a Thai restaurant and a French restaurant before it became the Windham, is rumored to be haunted. Staff members of all the restaurants housed here reportedly have seen ghosts and witnessed poltergeist pranks. The atmosphere is rustic, with working fireplaces and a cocktail bar. Enjoy the patio in the summer or intimate indoor dining by candlelight. It's fine dining in a casual setting with entrees like orange-ginger duck, linguini and clams, sirloin steak tips and baby back ribs. Vegetarian choices include Greek, wedge, cobb and caprese salads, fried eggplant and pasta. Prices are mid-range with dishes under $10; expect to pay anywhere from $16 to $25 for some entrees.
