Brazilian Restaurants in Connecticut

Connecticut is a small state with a long history. It was the fifth state in The United States achieving statehood in 1788. The colonial history stands aside the modern changes well preserved. The natural beauty of this area is perfect for many outdoor activities, including hiking, biking, boating, fishing and skiing. Brazilians are mostly of Portuguese decent. This restaurant is a traditional churrascaria or Brazilian barbecue house. A salad bar and steam trays of meats and side dishes such as rice, vegetables and the dishes of the day accompany your choice of a variety of skewered barbecued meats that include bacon-wrapped chicken, sausages and beef. Carved to order, the meats are warm and juicy. Weighing each plate calculates the total price for each pound of food. Prices are quite reasonable with a base price for the salad and side dishes and an additional fee for carved meats.

O'Porto Restaurant

O'Porto is a fine dining establishment that has changed the way many people look at Portuguese cuisine. A fixed price lunch or dinner menu offers three courses with a variety of dishes to choose from. An offering of Portuguese rolls as each meal is prepared gives you time to enjoy company and sip a glass of wine. Tasty dishes include the parelhada, a grilled seafood medley with a lemon garlic sauce served with Portuguese fried potatoes, and carne de porco alentejana, traditional pork and clam sauté in a spicy wine sauce. With prices being slightly higher than casual dining, a lower price during lunch is a great time to check them out.

Churrascaria Braza

Live music and karaoke bring the life of Brazil home with this bar and grill. The fixed price menus offer a buffet of side dishes, including salads, assorted appetizers, black beans and rice, and peel and eat shrimp. The Brazilian barbecue price includes six meat choices, carved tableside, from the extensive menu. A separate lunch menu price allows you to sample the meal at a lower price. A menu of bar food includes specials four nights a week and a variety of appetizers to sandwiches. Children's and dessert menus are also available.
