Downtown Charlotte's Crowne Plaza Hotel does not set a weight requirement for pets staying, but does require a non-refundable service fee. The location features an outdoor swimming pool and a 24-hour fitness center renovated in 2006.

Outdoors enthusiasts can drive less than 10 miles to the U.S. National Whitewater Center for an afternoon of rafting, canoeing and kayaking multiple channels. A member of the InterContinental group of hotels, this Crowne Plaza Hotel operates the Chamber's American Grill steakhouse on site.

Doubletree Hotel

The Doubletree Hotel in Charlotte is located inside the Gateway Village community on the Johnson & Wales University campus. Pets 75 pounds or less are allowed at the Doubletree after their owners pay a non-refundable service fee.

The nearest jogging and walking track, according to Doubletree's Charlotte city guide, is one mile from the hotel. The hotel operates a fitness room and outdoor swimming pool on the premises. Orchard's Restaurant serves guests either in their on-site dining room or with room service.

La Quinta Inn & Suites

Guests can take a complimentary shuttle service to or from the Charlotte International Airport and this La Quinta Inn location. The hotel is pet friendly and less than one mile from Tuckaseegee Park. Other parks in the area include Camp Greene Park on Alleghany Street, Enderly Park and Southwest Park on Vilma Street.

The hotel provides a free continental breakfast for customers, who can then work off extra calories at the in-house fitness center. Laundry facilities are also available to guests.

Omni Hotel

The Omni Hotel on East Trade Street stands one mile from both the Inner Peaks Climbing Center and the Mecklenburg Aquatic Center. You can serve a game four miles away at the Freedom Park Tennis Court or tee off at the Tradition Golf Course located six miles from the hotel.

Small pets under 25 pounds are allowed at the Omni Hotel with a non-refundable fee. A rooftop pool overlooks downtown Charlotte buildings at the Omni, which also houses the Charlotte Athletic Club in its lobby.
