Fitzgerald's is one of the only hotel/casino combinations with a river view. Most travelers go for the gambling, but a room with a view is nice especially during down time. While visitor reviews for the Fitz are hit or miss, complimentary discounts for rooms and dining are relatively easy to get when you play a lot of the table games. According to visitors, the views of the Mississippi River are postcard-worthy.

The breakfast buffet is described as a "must-have." According to a map of the location, there are three other hotel/casinos within walking distance, and this is considered by travelers to be a perk. Once you are ready for a change of venue, just walk across the parking lot. Also on the plus side is the poker room. Many Tunica Casinos do not have poker tables, but the Gold Strike has a 14-table poker room.
