For an authentic medieval experience, you can rent Ballyhannon Castle in Quin, which is approximately 41 kilometers from Doolin. Built in the 1400s, Ballyhannon Castle has been faithfully preserved. Step back in time as you explore the five-story castle, which features a medieval dining room, arches and a dungeon. Dromoland Castle
If you want true luxury, consider Dromoland Castle, just outside of New Market on Fergus, about 32 kilometers from Doolin. Dromoland was once the home of the O'Brien clan, direct descendants of Brian Boru, probably the most famous High King of Ireland. The 16th Century castle was converted into a hotel in1962.
