During the winter months especially, these lakes and surrounding areas are filled with people skiing, playing ice hockey, skating and bobsledding. Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort

A full-service resort so well situated most guests park the cars and don't use them until they leave, The Golden Arrow is the only resort located directly on Mirror Lake. The hotel offers its own private white-sand beach and a panoramic view of the Adirondack Mountains as well as complimentary boats and a winter dog sled ride over the frozen lake. For eco-friendly tourism, the hotel's beach is made with limestone, which helps keep the pH balanced against acid rain. The hotel is set up as a family friendly location, but also specializes in romantic getaways and has a floor dedicated to anti-allergen rooms. The hotel accommodates any special requests you may have. Refrigerators, coffee makers, in-room movies and video games are all available. Ground-level rooms offer patio doors just steps from the water, and all others have balconies. In the winter, rooms are convenient as a ski-in-ski-out location for cross-country skiers. The hotel also provides a private ice-skating rink and room for snowman-making and other winter activities.
